There have been many times in my life when I have been called an "overachiever". It was usually because I was doing things like getting better grades, or working on homework ahead of time. That always kind of bothered me because I was just doing what was expected of me. I was trying to get good grades because I wanted to be successful. I was working on more homework then I "needed" to so I could spend more time with my family. What's wrong with that?
Nothing.
Guys, there is nothing wrong with doing as much as you're capable of. I mean, we're given this life so we can live it, right? So why shouldn't we reach for the stars? Why shouldn't we be everything we can be?
I'm going to tell you something important.
There is no such thing as being an overachiever.
There is such a thing as being a hard worker.
Now I am not the hardest worker out there. I actually have this problem with procrastinating... I get distracted by things like food and Facebook and Doctor Who. I should be cleaning my room, and instead I'm lying on the floor listening to country music and reading Lord of The Rings (yeah, I'm nerdy *cough* (awesome) like that) I should be writing my book, and instead I'm writing a blog post and seriously considering making a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich.
Anyway, working hard is not a bad thing! It's not in anyway "snobby" or "uppity" to want to do something with your life. So don't pay the teeniest bit of attention to the underachievers (there is such a thing as that O_o) Letting them hold you back because they feel threatened by you isn't wise. You have been given a chance my friend. Go all out and use it.
~Until next time!
